Classical Revolution Manchester

Chamber Music for the people!

Classical Revolution Manchester - Chamber Music for the people!

Classical Revolution Manchester was founded in June 2011 as a chapter of the worldwide Classical Revolution movement.

Classical Revolution exists to bring chamber music back to its roots. Informal, accessible and available to all. Professional musicians and students come together to perform works in free concerts across Manchester and the North West. Our mission is to bring this amazing music to people who may not have access to it, through concerts in unusual, informal locations, workshops, playing at events and festivals and community events.

Classical Revolution is more than an ensemble.
Classical Revolution is more than a presenting organisation.
Classical Revolution is a global phenomenon, revolutionising the way live classical music is programmed and heard.

We're delighted to be playing at the Just So Festival this year and have commissioned a brand new version of the Carnival of the Animals about British animals!

Composition students from the University of Manchester are writing pieces about badgers, newts, etc and leaving spaces so children can write their own part of the composition then perform it at the festival! The festival runs from the 17th - 19th August.

Classical Rev- The Next Generation!

27th June 2012

This summer, we are running workshops for young musicians aged between 11-18 at Antwerp Mansion in Rusholme, Manchester.

We have a team of professional musicians to provide top quality chamber music coaching, singing, improvisation, composition, conducting, body percussion and loads more.

As usual with all things Classical Rev, it'll be fun, informal and you'll learn loads from some of the best musicians, composers and conductors in the North West.

We want to keep this affordable so we're charging £45 per day and £25 concessions. The workshops will be on Weds 25th July, Weds 1st August and Weds 8th August. We can put on more if there's enough demand.

All workshops will be from 9-5.30 and include soft drinks and water.

The mornings will be group activities such as impro, singing, composition, conducting etc and the afternoons will be devoted to chamber music ensemble coaching. Young people will be put into groups of similar ability and offered a wide range of repertoire, or they can play pieces they've chosen.
